Admissions
Equal Employment and Training Opportunity
The Institute is
committed to the principle of equal opportunity in
education and employment. The Institute does not
discriminate on the basis of sex, race, religion, color,
national origin, age, economics, or disability with
regard to admission, placement, or employment. It
is the policy of the Institute to provide equal
training opportunity in full compliance with the Civil
Rights Act of 1964, as amended, the Age Discrimination
in Employment Act of 1967, provisions of the
Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the Veterans Readjustment
Act of 1974, the Presidential Executive Orders and the
Regulations of the Office of Federal Contract Compliance
Programs. This provides for equal training and
employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex,
national origin, marital status, age, disability and
veteran status.
Education Prerequisites
All
persons interested in attending any Institute training
programs are encouraged to visit the facility before
registering. Visits may be scheduled during the
hours of 8:30 AM and 4:00 PM and at other times by
contacting the school. A school representative
will be happy to discuss all aspects of the school with
prospective students, friends and family. If a
prospective student meets all eligibility requirements,
he or she will be considered as a candidate for
enrollment.
In keeping with the
Institute’s mission to prepare students for
employment, it is important that students understand how
difficult it is to enter the job market without a high
school diploma or a GED. Even with the technical
training offered by the Institute, it is
extremely difficult to secure a training-related
position without one of these credentials.
Therefore, all prospective students must have a valid
high school diploma or a GED to be admitted to a full
program by this institution. All students
enrolling in a certificate program must submit a copy of
their high school diploma or its equivalent (GED) during
the enrollment process.
To enroll, students
must meet the following requirements:
1)
Must be at
least 18 years of age;
2)
Must be a
high school graduate or a GED recipient;
3)
Must complete
an Application and Enrollment Agreement;
4)
Must be
drug-free and pass a pre-training chemical screening
test;
5)
Must possess
a valid driver’s license, and have reliable
transportation.
Note:
All students enrolling in the Introduction to
Electrical – Level I Skill Institute must show proof of
successful completion
of one year of High School algebra (Algebra I).
